School Post Assignment

I have a difficult time with the plagiarism and the workplace. There is a co-worker who happens to "steal" my original work when it comes to implementation of exercise plans. I can tell you that it makes me very uncomfortable and angry as these situations repeat themselves. Still I am expected to react in a professional manner when dealing with patients. Sometimes it is very hard to keep my composure and I have spoken to this individual on several occasions. He is young and has a lot to learn in the professional realm. Hopefully he doesn't get into serious trouble in the meantime yet I fear he will have a rude awakening if he continues on this path.

  1. Hi Kimberly,

Perhaps if you offer to share ideas about exercise plans, your co-worker will not feel compelled to "steal" your original work. Of course, I do not know exactly what this work entails. Do you mean written patient plans?

I know at Kaplan, the policy for most instructors is that we willingly share anything we feel will help each other and our clients (you students).

Many activists of all kinds do not consider sharing articles, information, original flyers, etc. plagiarism because they welcome sharing information. It is interesting in the information age, what can be shared without citation and what cannot. In some cases, those involved feel the "end justifies the means." I do understand your situation with patient plans might be different. What is the main reason these should not be shared and used by others? Or is it that they should not be shared without giving you credit?

Here is a link to an interesting article about milk proteins and diabetes. You could research more academic sources on this.

Have you read anything about protein drinks and any cautions?

  2. Wow... sorry to hear your coworkers does that. I feel that people who do that deserve a rude awakening. I could see him not doing it intentionally and you bringing i to his attention, but the fact he does it time and time again and you constantly say things to him is unreal. I am sorry. plagiarism is not something we want. I would feel so angry if my ideas were taken and i wasn't given credit for them. That is why with this paper i am going to work super hard to make sure i cite all my sources correctly ! good luck girl!!!
